The terms and conditions of use set out below apply to the Website owned, operated and controlled by Us, located on the World Wide Web at http:/www.hertschamber.com (the "Website"). By using the Website, You are deemed to have full knowledge of the following terms and conditions and to accept them. If you do not agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions, please do not use the website.

Alteration to the Terms and Conditions We may, at any time change, modify, add to or remove part or all of these Terms and Conditions. You should therefore check these Terms and Conditions periodically to see if they have changed. Your continued use of this Website following any change in the Terms and Conditions will be deemed to constitute acceptance by you of those changes.

Copyright All material accessible on this Website is protected by copyright. You may view Website pages on screen and you may print or download extracts for your own personal use or for use by others within your organisation.

Membership

  • Payments made for membership via the website under the ‘Join us’ section are not applicable for refunds. Please call the membership team for information on 01707 502 180

  • The Registration Fee is a once only payment to cover the Chamber's initial administration costs.

  • The Membership Subscription to a Chamber of Commerce is a tax deductible item.

  • Membership will be effective from the date the application is received and will cover a full twelve month period.

  • Invoice for the following year of membership will be raised a month prior to renewal to allow notice of intent to leave

  • Members wishing to retire from the Chamber must give one month’s written notice.

  • Member will be liable to full payment of their subscription for that following year, unless one full months’ notice is received by email or letter.

  • Late payment of fees will incur a 4% charge over and above the bank base rate.

  • If you choose to pay via annual Direct Debit the charge will be automatically taken the following year, an invoice for reference will be sent out 30 days prior to renewal

Personal information

The Hertfordshire Chambers of Commerce will endeavour to ensure the information we hold on our website will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by logging in to your account or contacting the chamber direct 01707 502 180. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct them promptly. You may also require us to delete the personal information we hold about you and if you wish us to do so, please notify us by email enquiries@hertschamber.com

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to you

  • To help get the best use out of our website

  • To send you details on upcoming events and services you might be interested in, based on information provided to us when you sign up to the chamber

The Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce may transfer your information to third parties to contact you, the parties refer to our benefit partners so they can update you / contact you regarding the service as part of your Herts Chamber membership.

We may also share your data via per 2 per introductions to other members of the chamber. We will always ask why they want the introduction and if we feel it will benefit your company we will make the introduction to you.

If you have opted in, your data will also appear in our Members Directory for other companies to contact you: the information that will appear is as follows:

  • Company Email Address

Warranty 

We will perform our services with reasonable care and skill. No representation or warranty is given that the services will be uninterrupted or error free or that all errors or defects can be corrected or remedied. The Website is used at your own risk. We accept no liability for any loss or damage to your hardware and/or software and/or data resulting from your access and/or use of the Website. In no event shall Hertfordshire Chambers of Commerce be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever arising directly or indirectly from the advice or information given on this Website.  

Availability 

You acknowledge that it is technically impossible to provide the Website free of faults and that we do not undertake to do so; that faults may lead to the temporary unavailability of the Website; and that the operation of the Website may be adversely affected by conditions and performances outside our control, including, without limitation, transmission and telecommunications links between us and you and between us and other systems and networks. We and/or our suppliers may make improvements and/or changes in the Website at any time.

If you forget or loose a password or user name you must contact the chamber and satisfy such security checks that we may operate. We reserve the right to suspend user names and password access to the Website and the Services if at any time we consider that there is or is likely to be a breach of security. 

We reserve the right (in our sole discretion) to require you to change any or all of the passwords used by you in connection with the Website. When Joining the Chamber we will set you up with a username and password. We recommend you amended this to something more specific for your business. Disclaimer We shall not be liable for any claims or losses which are due to circumstances beyond Our reasonable control. We shall not be liable for any claims or losses to the extent that these relate to profits, indirect or consequential losses.

This disclaimer does not affect your statutory rights (if any) and no part of these terms and conditions seeks to avoid liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or for negligence causing personal injury or death.

In this agreement the following words shall have the following meanings: 

"Us" refers to Hertfordshire Chambers of Commerce, a Company Limited by Guarantee, registered in England and Wales (No: 01026468) and "we" and "our" will be construed accordingly. 

The Hertfordshire Chambers of Commerce Registered Office; York House, Salisbury Square, Hatfield, AL9 5AD.

"You" refers to the member or user who uses the Website subject to these terms and conditions and "your" will be construed accordingly. 

"Website" means the website on the World Wide Web located at http://www.hertschamber.com/ and "Content" means the information and other material available within the Website.
