Commenting on the proposed Data Protection Bill, Dr Adam Marshall, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), said:

“Businesses up and down the country are already preparing for the implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) next year. Bringing these measures into domestic law now will give businesses more certainty about the UK’s data protection regime during the Brexit transition, but more communication is needed to ensure that every company is aware of the changes.

BCC comments on GDP figures

Commenting on the first estimate of GDP for Q2 2017, published today by the ONS, Suren Thiru, Head of Economics at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), said:

“While GDP growth in Q2 was a slight improvement on the previous quarter, it was still less than half the pace of growth recorded at the end of 2016, and provides further evidence that the UK economy is treading water.
