The University’s Head of Careers and Employment Services, Mark Diggle said: “Recruitment Services was launched in response to increasing numbers of employers contacting the University seeking to recruit Bedfordshire graduates. It builds on the success of last year’s HEFCE funded (Higher Education Funding Council for England) Graduate Scheme which helped place over 160 graduates into employment.”
The Recruitment Services team is actively involved in arranging interviews and liaising with both employers and candidates to ensure that the whole process runs smoothly.
Over the past few months 24 graduates have been placed into full-time employment and 73 into part-time work.
“Our on-campus recruitment event at Bedford and Luton has given more than 500 students the opportunity to gain paid work at next year’s Olympic Games,” added Mark. “The employer was so impressed with the result that the University is being used as a case study on effective student recruitment.”
The recruitment service is currently offered free of charge to employers.
