Here at University Campus St Albans, we have been engaging on line with businesses, the Hertfordshire LEP and our construction management students. We see a huge benefit for us all to come together to discuss the impact of Covid-19 in the industry and examine what will be needed in the future. The construction industry is already governed by tight margins and low productivity rates; therefore, will this pandemic see margins shrink even further and, or will it accelerate growth for offsite construction?
On Wednesday 10th June at 10.00am, The University Campus St Albans (UCSA), a joint venture between The University of Hertfordshire and Oaklands College, are hosting a LIVE conversation with key speakers from Morgan Sindall and Willmott Dixon to discuss and share views on the impact Covid-19 has and will have on the construction industry. This LIVE conversation will involve:
- The impact of Covid-19 on construction industry – Richard Davidson, Director, Willmott Dixon
- Will there be a return to normal construction post Covid-19? – David Rowsell, Director, Morgan Sindall
- A perspective from a future leader – Euan Beaddie, Assistant Building Manager at Wilmott Dixon and current final student with UCSA
- Skills for the Future - Stephen Fox, Executive Director, UCSA
As an industry, who was going through transformation when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, it is a critical time for construction and we want to ensure we continue to work together to ensure our industry continues to be one of the biggest contributors to the UK economy, so please join us by registering and joining in the debate, click here to register
