Hertfordshire Chamber member Road Victims Trust is a local charity which provides free emotional and practical support to those affected by road death across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire and is hoping to scoop a coveted award.

The Road Victims Trust has entered the JustGiving Charity of the Year Awards and is hoping to amass as many votes as possible to be crowned JustGiving Charity of the Year.

Each year there are more than 80 deaths on the roads across the three counties, which leads to over 250 people receiving support from the Trust.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Trust, during which time it has supported thousands of people whose lives have been devastated by a road death. It marked the occasion on 6 June with a 20 mile walk supported by many police officers and staff.

Chief Executive Mark Turner, a former Police Chief Superintendent, said: “All road deaths are violent and sudden with so many people’s lives changed in an instant. We are proud to be able to offer our unique services to people across the three counties, as this support is quite simply not available anywhere else.”
