The new partnership will enable Stevenage-based Chamber members to receive 1st year free membership of Smartgo Stevenage. This will provide access to a wide range of discounts and offers from local and national travel providers including 10 per cent off rail season tickets, 15 per cent off a range of car hire options and discounts on cycling. Yolanda Rugg, Chief Executive of the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce said: “We are delighted to support this fantastic initiative which stemmed from the local business forum that the Chamber ran several years ago. This is a great opportunity for businesses to help employees to commute safely, efficiently and reduce their carbon footprint, whilst also addressing parking challenges, a significant issue affecting growing organisations and a key issue faced by our members.”
The Smartgo Stevenage travel network is co-ordinated by Go Travel Solutions and is focused on transforming business travel and commuting by delivering financial, health and environmental benefits for employees and businesses.
Robin Pointon, Managing Director of Go Travel Solutions added: “Employees are under increasing pressure to make their modes of commuting and business travel more cost-effective, healthier and more sustainable. Employers, such as the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce member businesses, can take advantage of these offers to access cheaper, easier and greener travel options for their staff. What’s more, this partnership could save Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce members up to £475 through offering 1st year free membership of Smartgo Stevenage.”
