Event: 350km charity cycle through Cuba
When: 17th – 25th October 2015
Where: Starting in Havana
The mind and inspiration behind Teens Unite, Debbie Pezzani will be heading to Cuba on 17th October to complete a 350km cycle in just five days across the Caribbean island of Cuba. The CEO and Founder will be accompanied by the charity’s Brand and Communications Coordinator, Hannah Martin alongside 14 other dedicated supporters.
Not one to shy away from taking on a challenge, Debbie Pezzani completed Teens Unite’s overseas cycling challenge in 2013, where she made her way from Vietnam to Cambodia in the company of the charity’s Co-Founder, Karen Millen OBE (pictured above).
The trip will commence on 17th October in the capital; Havana, before the group ventures into the lesser known regions of Cuba at handlebar level.
Local businesses have also embraced the challenge, with Sarah Smits- Finance Director of Ashbourne Insurance, Lia Parkinson- Director of The Office on the Net and Cathy Prested- Director of Funky Casinos all preparing themselves to cycle an average of 60-80km each day.
Speaking of the challenge, Debbie has said: “The cycle is set to be the trip of a lifetime. I know only too well from my previous cycling challenge that it will be incredibly tough, but to share the journey with 15 other cyclists who are just as passionate about supporting young people with cancer as I am will make it a whole lot easier.
Not matter how hard or tiring it gets, the pain is so minor in comparison to what the young people supported by Teens Unite have to endure.
Bring it on!”
