Holiday Inn Stevenage has completed a major refurbishment project, following an investment of more than £1million.

The hotel, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, has undergone significant changes throughout the property, including the refurbishment of its dedicated meetings and events floor and the introduction of a new Open Lobby, creating space for guests to eat, drink, socialise or work away from their rooms.

New audio-visual equipment has been installed throughout the hotel’s meetings spaces and, as part of the Open Lobby concept, a ‘To Go Café which offers snack food and drinks around the clock has been added.

The hotel’s 140 guest rooms have also been upgraded with new carpets, chairs and lighting fixtures following the investment, which plays a key role in “Stevenage Better” – the town’s 20-year regeneration programme, worth nearly £1bn.

General manager of Holiday Inn Stevenage, Ashish Arora, said: “We’re excited to unveil the results of our major refurbishment here at the Holiday Inn Stevenage. It’s a fantastic way to mark our tenth year in business here in the town and it’s great to be playing our part in the wider regeneration of Stevenage.

“The hotel has been transformed, with more light and airy space created for our meetings, events and weddings offering, as well as the creation of our new Open Lobby area, which allows our guests to enjoy more space and grab a bite to eat, catch up with a colleague, or just rest and relax with a coffee, whatever time of day or night.”

The refurbishment is set to be showcased at a public preview event on Wednesday 2 October.

Ashish, added: “We’re sure our guests and the local community alike are going to be blown away by our new look and facilities.

“We’re now the only hotel in Stevenage to offer Starbucks® Coffee as well as both live SkySports® and BTSports® in the lobby and, most importantly, we’re fully-accessible with DDA accreditation.

“We’d like to invite the public along on the 2 October for a look around the hotel, to enjoy some drinks and nibbles, and see our new-look, firsthand.”
