The lodge, which consists of 23 members, has been tirelessly fundraising within the confines of the masonry to support the work of the Broxbourne based charity. Of the amount donated, £1,000 was fundraised by members of St Augustine’s Lodge and the additional £300 was a charity donation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Hertfordshire, after Teens Unite was a nominated charity.
Dave Jones- Master, Bob Frost- Charity Steward and Philip Water- Treasuer, visited Teens Unite’s head office to present the cheque to the charity’s CEO and Founder, Debbie Pezzani.
When asked why St Augustine’s Masonic Lodge had supported Teens Unite, Bob Frost replied: “We asked members which charity they would like to support and Teens Unite was a popular choice amongst the lodge. It’s a local charity doing some fantastic work, so the choice was a natural one for us to make.”
Debbie Pezzani, CEO and Founder, Teens Unite has said: “We are so appreciative of the support St Augustine Masonic Lodge has given Teens Unite over the years, the dedication and commitment of its members is remarkable. This kind and generous donation will fund a workshop for the young people we support, uniting them through their battle with cancer.”
