On Tuesday 26 November, around 140 local children took to the stage at the Spotlight, Hoddesdon, for the annual Schools Carol Concert.

Children from Forres and Sheredes Primary Schools in Hoddesdon, Amwell View School in Stanstead Abbots and the Robert Barclay Academy band performed to nearly 500 friends, relations and visitors, in an inclusive event that captured the spirit of Christmas.

The pupils had been rehearsing for several months prior to the show, which included solos, individual carols by each school and audience participation.

Bringing the magical concert to an end, snowflakes fell onto the stage and covered the children as everyone sang ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’.

The Spotlight was also pleased to support this year’s Mayoral Charity, Teens Unite, who had a very successful evening selling discounted mainstream cosmetics in the foyer.

The Mayor of Broxbourne, Cllr Steve Wortley, was in attendance and was photographed with the children. The schools were all presented with £250 from the proceeds of the event.
