Staff at Sainsbury’s Rye Park Depot, Hoddesdon have been tirelessly fundraising for Broxbourne-based charity, Teens Unite.
Claire Hope, Great Place to Work Lead, Sainsbury’s visited Teens Unite’s offices with a cheque for £3,500 to help improve the lives of young people fighting cancer.
Teens Unite was selected as the main charity to be supported by Sainsbury’s Rye Park Depot for 2015-2017. During the course of these two years, staff at the depot are completing a series of fundraising activities to raise as much money as they can for Teens Unite.
The latest amount of £3,500 was raised through a Christmas raffle and a team of staff taking part in a Santa Fun Run in December 2016.
Debbie Pezzani, CEO and Founder, Teens Unite has said: “The staff at Sainsbury’s Rye Park Depot have been going above and beyond to raise funding for Teens Unite and for that we are extremely grateful.
Sainsbury’s Rye Park Depot have demonstrated just how much can be achieved by local branches and businesses when staff come together to collectively support a cause. This year, Teens Unite is celebrating its 10th Birthday, so now is a really exciting time to be a part of the charity and make a real difference to young people fighting cancer. I would encourage any business looking to support a charity, introduce team building activities or fulfil CSR requirements to get in touch to see how we can work together.
On behalf of all the staff and young people at Teens Unite, I would like to thank Sainsbury’s Rye Park Depot for their support to date.”
