As we begin to see signs of lockdown easing, the events industry is poised to return, with the health and safety of staff and customers at the fore. For Rothamsted Conference Centre and Restaurant, this is of paramount importance.
As a result, this month we have introduced a robust Safe Events Strategy, supported by a detailed COVID-19 Safety Policy and COVID-19 Risk Assessment ahead of the re-opening on Monday 6 July. These comprehensive documents contain all the information customers need to understand the many safety measures and procedures we have put in place to enable safe, socially distanced events and meetings in the conference centre.
Reduced room capacities:
We have introduced reduced capacities in all our meeting rooms to enable 2m social distancing.
Room hire only rates:
We have switched to Room Hire Only rates rather than providing a Day Delegate Rate (DDR). All room hire rates include the provision of drinking water in your meeting room.
Spacious, accessible venue:
Our venue is naturally very spacious, and all rooms are easily accessible. We have lots of free car parking on site to enable socially distanced car parking. We are also set among great outdoor areas perfect for socially distant walks before or after meetings.
PPE and hygiene stations for staff:
Our staff will be wearing PPE. Staff hygiene stations are available to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. We politely request all conference centre customers to respect their 2m distance.
Robust cleaning regime:
We have implemented a very robust cleaning regime at the Conference Centre, ensuring high touch points are cleaned after every use, rooms are cleaned down after each occupancy and use of communal areas such as toilets is done in a way that follows health and safety best practice and Government guidelines.
Multiple entrances and staggered arrival times:
At Rothamsted Conference Centre, we have many large event spaces, plus we have two separate automated entrance doors and a large, well-ventilated plaza area. Customers will be staggered when arriving meaning minimal cross over with other meeting groups and minimal interaction with staff. The layout lends itself well to good ventilation and minimal touchpoints.
Restaurant takeaway service:
Rothamsted Restaurant has been re-opened for takeaway service only – with a one-way system in place, Perspex screens to protect staff and customers, lots of clear signage, 2m spacing stickers and numerous hand sanitiser stations in place. After 4th July, conference centre users will be able to purchase takeaway food from our own restaurant to be consumed in the meeting rooms.
