Ahead of the local Borough election on Thursday 2 May, the Council is encouraging its residents to visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and register to vote (if they haven’t already).

The Council would like to remind residents that time is now running out to make sure they can take part in these elections.

The message is simple: you can’t vote, if you aren’t registered.  It’s easy and only takes a few minutes online.

These are some important deadlines for residents to be aware of:
Friday 12 April: register to vote deadline
Monday 15 April at 5pm: postal vote application deadline
Wednesday 24 April at 5pm: proxy vote application deadline
Thursday 2 May: polling day
To register, residents can visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or contact the Council’s Helpline on 01992 785577.
