Dennis Howard, senior site manager for CALA Homes at Audley Chase in Earls Colne, is celebrating this week after receiving a prestigious industry award from the National Home Building Council (NHBC).

Dennis has been recognised in the 2020 Pride in the Job Quality Awards for his contribution to creating homes of exceptional quality. The Pride in the Job Awards, now in their 40th year, are one of the highest industry accolades a site manager can receive.

A total of 11,000 site managers across the UK were assessed this year, with only 450 winners selected, putting those awarded in the industry’s top four per cent who demonstrate the passion, commitment and leadership to deliver new homes to the highest possible standards.

Dennis is one of 17 CALA site managers to win one of this year’s awards. He will now go through to the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence, which will be announced later this year.

Duncan Jackson, Managing Director for CALA Homes North Home Counties, comments: “These awards recognise an unwavering commitment to creating homes of the highest standard and are testament to the hard work of our site managers, as well as their wider teams and subcontractor partners.

“The past few months have been challenging for us all, but the commitment of our teams to deliver the best possible homes for our customers has not diminished. My thanks go to Dennis and his team at Audley Chase for taking pride in the job, and delivering an exceptional development in Earls Colne.”

As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, each site manager is assessed across 37 different areas of site management, including technical knowledge, quality and consistency.

Dennis Howard, Senior Site Manager at CALA Homes’ Audley Chase, said: “Getting a Pride in the Job award from the NHBC is not an easy achievement, and so I feel very proud that my hard work and dedication has paid off. I have worked at CALA Homes for over ten years now, and I feel I’m a really highly-valued member of the team. There is a great family atmosphere within the company, and that runs at site level too. Every day on site is a challenge, and you never know what’s around the corner, but I could not have achieved what I have without the superb team around me, so I have to thank them for their continued support and dedication to creating high-quality new homes for our customers.”

Located on Station Road in the historic village of Earls Colne, Audley Chase is the third development to be delivered by CALA Homes in the Colchester area. The development is located adjacent to Colne Valley Golf Club and comprises of 34 three, four and five bedroom homes with some benefitting from views towards the golf course.
