As one of the UK's leading dairy companies, Arla has selected Hatfield as its preferred location for a regional distribution centre which will be operated in partnership with PCL Transport providing approximately 500 new jobs.

Arla Foods UK plc produces some of the UK’s leading dairy brands including Cravendale, Lurpak, Lactofree and Anchor. Arla is one of the world’s leading dairy companies and a supplier of fresh liquid milk and cream to the top seven retailers.

The Hatfield Business Park Regional Distribution Centre will play a vital role in the distribution of Arla’s dairy products to the south-east of England and has been specifically chosen as a sustainable location for efficient delivery.

Chamber Chief Executive Tim Hutchings said: “It is great news that Arla Foods Limited are to develop their new site on the Hatfield Business Park, that they have chosen to focus their growth plans within Hertfordshire is yet another vote of confidence for the county.

Hertfordshire is a great place to do business; it is wonderful to see that others think so too.”

In advance of the submission of an application for planning permission in January, a Public Exhibition is being held on site with information and plans about the proposals.

It will take place from Monday 12th December to Thursday 22nd December 2011 in the Park Management and Marketing Office located at the northern end of Mosquito Way (opposite Everything Everywhere). The opening hours are from 9.30am to 5.00pm every day (including Saturday and Sunday).
