What: Teens Unite’s annual ‘It’s A Knockout Family Fun Day’
When: Sunday 14th June, 11am – 6pm
Where: Wormley Playing Fields
Teens Unite’s annual ‘It’s A Knockout’ event certainly lived up to its name this year with 23 teams taking part, raising over £16,000 for the Broxbourne-based charity.
A record number of visitors swarmed to Wormley Playing Fields to spectate the teams battling against each other on the inflatable assault course. The event bought local residents and organisations together for a fun-filled day.
Visitors browsed the selection of stalls on offer, from make-up to cakes and sweets, and children were entertained by the bouncy castle, face painting and petting area. Aside from the games inside the It’s A Knockout arena, spectators were having fun of their own playing Hook a Duck, Play Your Cards Right and a rodeo bull.
The event was sponsored by Curwens Solicitors, Fishpools, Hoddesdon Rotary Club, HB Accountants and Breeze and Wyles.
Companies including Ricoh, Newsprinters, Paradise Wildlife Park, Vision, Kings Group, Breeze and Wyles and Tesco all entered teams, using the event as a staff bonding activity whilst raising money for a worthy cause.
Produce was donated by Tesco- Cheshunt, Morrisons- Hoddesdon and Waitrose- Hertford.
Debbie Pezzani, CEO and Founder, Teens Unite has said: “We were overwhelmed with how many people joined us on the day and showed their support. The turnout was unbelievable and we have raised such an incredible amount of money, helping us to reach out to more young people fighting cancer.
Our home has always been in the Borough of Broxbourne, so we always enjoy putting on a show for those who live in the local area. The event is becoming increasingly popular and it’s getting bigger and better every year, so watch out for 2016!
I would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who helped on the day and all of our team members and sponsors. You all made the event such a success.”
