Higher Maximum Payouts In Employment Cases

Vanderpump & Sykes Solicitors are advising business owners that the government has announced new limits to the unfair dismissal and redundancy payments which could potentially be awarded to employees.The limits – which have risen in line with the annual indexation formula – are applicable from 1 February 2011.
Richard Stephens, of Vanderpump & Sykes said “The changes cover statutory redundancy payments, basic and compensatory awards for unfair dismissal, the limit on guarantee payment made when employees are not provided with work and the minimum basic award for unfair dismissal in health and safety and certain other cases".
