Chambers and Partners UK has just published its latest rankings for 2015. Debenhams Ottaway is recognisedin five categories, including a new entry for commercial litigation.
The private client team maintained its band 1 status (highest recognition) for the third year running. The directory quoted partner Susan Glenholme as “very personable, good with the clients and talks in plain English."
The planning team also maintained its band 1 ranking with partner Bernadette Hillman noted for her ability to "see beyond the legal points - she has a good awareness of the practical reality."
The family team increased their position moving up to band 2 this year. Partner Helen Young was recognisedfor being “extremely helpful – there wasn't one of her decisions where I was unsure it was the right thing to do."
The commercial property team kept their band 2 ranking and a client commented that "they get on with things, show themselves to be client-focused, and turn the work around quickly."
The litigation team received recognition for the first time this year with a band 3 ranking. They were quoted by clients for being “exceptional” and “commercially very aware and they adopt a good strategy to litigation."
Executive partner, Louise Attrup, was also recognisedfor her work on significant employment law cases, and noted for her"pragmatic and risk-based approach to clients' problems, taking into consideration the needs of the business. She is willing to be decisive, and always gives clear and realistic advice."
