The chosen charity for the 2013 St Albans Half Marathon Event is Hertfordshire Society for the Blind.
HSB has spent nearly 100 years meeting the needs of visually impaired people. The Society was formed in 1915 to assist soldiers returning from the front who were blinded by gas and remain an independent local registered charity providing services and information to blind and partially sighted people throughout Hertfordshire, as well as to their families, carers and any organisations with an interest or involvement in people with a visual impairment.
A new route is planned for 2013 which still incorporates the stunning views of the St Albans Abbey, the Verulamium Park and the country lanes surrounding the city. With record numbers entering in 2012, organisers are hoping for an even bigger numbers in 2013.
An 'earlybird' offer is available to runners who reserve their place now which ends at midnight on Thursday 31st January 2013. The closing date for entries is 12 noon on 4th June 2013.
