EEDA have ring-fenced a £5.5 million pot of money for businesses to carry out research and development (R&D) projects on low-carbon technologies.

Grants range from £5,000 to £250,000 and will be awarded to entrepreneurs or companies to:
- develop a prototype, or pre-production prototype, of an innovative new product or process
- investigate the technical and commercial feasibility of innovative technologies
Public sector funding can sometimes be overlooked as people are put off by perceptions of lengthy timescales, bureaucracy and the need for match funding.
However, research conducted at the end of 2009 reinforced the benefits of grant funding to recipients – helping them to create new and lucrative intellectual property and giving them the stamp of approval required to attract further investment.
The first step is to complete a short pre-application form to establish your eligibility.  This only takes a few minutes to complete and you will receive feedback within 3 days.
