10th May – A Day To Celebrate is a whole day dedicated to a celebration of sport and community in the Borough of Broxbourne. The day celebrates the Women’s Tour starting from Cheshunt and the launch of Grundy Park Leisure Centre after a multi-million pound refurbishment of with a Community Sports Festival event.
As part of the Community Sports Festival we are organising a ‘World Cup Themed Human Table Football’ competition for local businesses.
The 2014 FIFA Football World Cup in Brazil kicks off on 12 June 2014. Join in the excitement and enjoy the competitive spirit by signing up your local business for the Human Table Football ‘World Cup’ on Saturday 10 May 2014. Participating in the ‘World Cup’ is a great way to raise your businesses profile and support your local community; while competing against other local businesses offers opportunities for networking and team-building.
Each business competes as their favourite international team against other businesses. Teams are made up of five players (one goalie, two midfielders and two strikers) and games last 15 minutes.
The Community Sports Festival is held at Grundy Park, Cheshunt on Saturday 10 May 2014 from 12noon until 5pm. The day will be busy and fun with a range of fun activities for the whole family at the new centre, including performances from local bands, Dr Bike and bike-ability sessions, a climbing wall, a tightrope act on a bike, trampolines, fun fair, Punch and Judy, advice about healthy living and lots more activities and attractions!
Please contact Daniela Crouch at Broxbourne Council by 1 April 2014 by email@example.com if you would like to sign up. All I need is the name of your business, your football team’s name, your name, telephone number and email address. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
Please note there are a limited number of teams and players and spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis. Teams will be notified before the day of the schedule for the matches.
