Hertfordshire businesses are invited to attend a free Fraud and Cybercrime virtual seminar organised by Hertfordshire OPCC and the IBAG.
About this Event
The Independent Business Advisory Group (IBAG) is a strategic group designed to scrutinise Hertfordshire Constabulary’s response to crime types impacting Hertfordshire businesses, whilst providing consultative feedback to the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire (OPCC).
Expert speakers from Hertfordshire Constabulary, Hertfordshire County Council and Hertfordshire Growth Hub will offer advice on preventing cybercrime and tackling fraudsters who target commercial operations.
The presentations will cover:
Fraud & Cybercrime: the local context
Training your staff to identify fraud and scams
Cyber Security Voucher Scheme (scheme offering free cybersecurity checks by computer professionals to small and medium sized businesses
The virtual seminar will provide you and your business with the opportunity to:
Hear from Hertfordshire Constabulary about current levels of fraud and cybercrime in the county, emerging threats and which businesses are most targeted.
Learn about what measures you can take to help prevent your business from being a victim of fraud or cybercrime.
Understand how fraudsters target businesses via phishing emails, postal and telephone scams, and what measures you can take to mitigate becoming a victim of crime.
The session will also guide you on how to identify vulnerable customers at greater risk of falling victim to scams
The seminar will conclude with a set of virtual networking sessions, focusing on the impact of Covid-19 on business crime and opportunities to engage with other participating businesses across Hertfordshire.
