The 2014 white water rafting season at Lee Valley White Water Centre ends on Sunday 30 November giving thrill seekers just one month to tackle the raging rapids and tick this extreme challenge off their bucket lists this year.
White water rafting adventures at the London 2012 legacy venue in Waltham Cross are available in November for only £49 per person or just £30 each with a group of friends via the Fast and Furious Fridays Charter offer.
Simon Ricketts, Lee Valley White Water Centre Manager said: “It’s been a really busy season with almost 300,000 visitors coming to take part in a host of activities including rafting, kayaking, hydrospeeding and hot dog sessions as well as stopping for a coffee in our café or having lunch from our new barbeque.
“With the final countdown now on until the end of the season I would urge anyone thinking about trying white water rafting to book now so they are not disappointed.
“The last boat of the 2014 season will battle the white water rapids on Sunday 30 November and then that’s it for white water rafting at the centre until March next year.”
No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided, including wetsuits, boots, helmets and buoyancy aids. Participants are accompanied by an experienced raft guide who will take them through a safety briefing on the flat water lake and prepare them for tackling the rapids.
Other thrilling white water activities available at the centre include hydrospeeding, which is similar to bodyboarding and hot dog sessions, which are held on two person inflatables and provide a heart pumping introduction to kayaking on the rapids.
The centre boasts a new terrace barbeque and bar which are within splashing distance of the Olympic Standard Competition Course as well as a spacious indoor café area with free Wi-Fi and views over the white water rapids as well as the beautiful River Lee Country Park.
Visitors to the area can extend their stay by staying locally at Lee Valley Caravan Park, Dobbs Weir which is surrounded by the picturesque and peaceful Hertfordshire countryside. For more information visit: www.visitleevalley.org.uk/wheretostay
