A huge increase in turnover and the doubling of its staff in the past 12 months helped Hertford’s Cariad Marketing secure top spot at this year’s Hertford Growth Awards.
The awards, which are hosted by the Hertford Entrepreneurs Network, are designed to recognise the outstanding growth of a local business. Digital marketing agency Cariad was up against strong competition in the form of Lance James the Jewellers and Close Parent.
At the ceremony at Hertford Castle, Justine Perry Managing Director of Cariad, made a presentation about the company’s growth and future plans. She was able to point to an increase in turnover of 135% in just one year along with the doubling of the company’s workforce to 10 employees.
Judging the three finalists were Julie Palmer, editor of the Hertfordshire Mercury, Hertford Town Councillors Andrew Stevenson and Isabel Sigmac and businessman Tony Fagg. Speaking after the presentation of the awards Cllr Stevenson said: “One of the facts that swayed the judges was that Cariad provides a very personal service developing good personal customer relationships to develop a marketing strategy for companies that are local and established but have not themselves got into the whole digital social media world.”
Justine, who in addition to the award was presented with a cheque for £1,500, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to receive this award. We really do strive to offer an outstanding service to our customers which I believe is demonstrated by the fact that the company continues to go from strength to strength.”
She added that the prize money would be spent on staff training.
Cariad Marketing, which is based in Cowbridge, provides bespoke internet marketing services including search engine optimisation (SEO), social media, online marketing campaigns and web design.
