East of England trade organisations are planning a return trade mission to the Czech Republic following the success of a visit last year.

Enterprise Europe Network and UKTI are organising the trade mission to the Central European Exhibition Centre, Brno, Czech Republic to enable UK companies to participate in an international business-to-business matchmaking event, from 29 September-01 October.

Delegates will have the opportunity to take part in pre-arranged business-to-business meetings, attend a business networking reception organised by the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce and visit the MSV International Engineering Fair.

The mission is being organised by Enterprise Europe Network Trade Adviser Mark Hofman, who said the visit represented a valuable opportunity for British businesses to meet with companies from across the Czech Republic.

“The Czech Republic is one of the UK’s largest export markets and amongst the most prosperous and stable emerging European economies, with a highly developed infrastructure open to UK business.

“We hope to build on last year’s visit to Brno and continue to support local companies develop new business relationships through our extensive network of European Chambers of Commerce and business support organisations” he added.

According to the World Bank the Czech economy grew by 2.9% in 2013, with a further 3.3% expansion forecast for this year by the international financial institution.

As a member of the European Union the Central European country has benefitted from £24 billion in structural funds in recent years and is expecting a further £20 billion for the next strategic period (2014-2020).

Participating companies will benefit from finding new business partners, clients and suppliers, an in-market briefing from the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic, free use of interpreters, and the services of an experienced trade mission manager.
