Christmas comes to town

Christmas came to Hemel Hempstead as residents got in the festive spirit at Dacorum Borough Council’s annual light switch on event on Sunday 25 November.

DJ Kentastic kicked off the party on the Rainbow Stage with live music and games. There was a mini snow slope provided by the Snow Centre, climbing wall activities thanks to Phasels Wood and the chance to try out winter sports such as curling.

Young entrepreneurs from Hemel schools raised money for local charities as part of the council’s Dragon’s Apprentice scheme – which matches budding young business minds with business mentors and local charities to develop and encourage business related skills.

Crowds were wowed at the end of the day with a fantastic firework finale.
