On Sunday 6th August, 25 supporters of Teens Unite took part in the charity’s annual Broxbourne to London cycle.
The group set off from Teens Unite’s Respite Home, Broxbourne and made their way along the beautiful Lee Valley tow-path until they reached Limehouse Basin, where the group stopped for a brief lunch and refreshment stop before making the return journey back.
The overall cycling distance there and back was approximately 43 miles. The event has raised in the region of £1,200.
Amongst the group were some of the Cuba team who are heading to the Caribbean island on 17th October to complete a distance of 350km at handlebar level to raise funding for Teens Unite. The team will be 16 strong and includes Sarah Smits- Ashbourne Insurance, Cathy Prested- Funky Casinos, Lia Parkinson- The Office on the Net and Janine Leal- Leal Accountants. Teens Unite’s CEO and Founder, Debbie Pezzani and the charity’s Brand and Communications Coordinator, Hannah will be heading up the group.
Debbie Pezzani has said: “A massive well done and congratulations to everyone who completed the Broxbourne to London cycle, we really appreciate all of you joining us.
It was a great training exercise for the team of Cuba cyclists who will have to complete this distance and sometimes more, every day for five days in a row.”
