Following the participation of 195 local companies in a business recovery survey designed to help assess Broxbourne Borough Council’s response to COVID-19, three participating businesses were selected at random to win a year’s Bronze Membership with Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce.

The business support package which is worth £2,645 per annum was randomly awarded to Data Engineering, a Hoddesdon-based family business with over 40 years’ experience in press toolmaking and general Engineering; Windmill Dry Cleaners, a Cheshunt-based dry cleaning and alterations services provider; and Melissa Electrical Distributors a Hoddesdon-based independent electrical wholesaler.

Leader of Broxbourne Borough Council, Councillor Lewis Cocking said: “Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce membership is an excellent way for these companies to access support during these tough times. With so many challenges presented by the ongoing pandemic it is assuring for the Council and partner organisations to continue its engagement with local businesses, and most importantly continue to provide as much support where possible.”

With support from the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce Bronze Memberships the winning businesses will be able to benefit from various business support initiatives and platforms to help boost their growth.

The businesses will also have access to discounted membership services such as e-learning, advertising in the organisations bi-monthly Inspire Magazine, free use of the accredited Chamber Member logo, press support, business listing on the chamber’s website, along with free or discounted access to networking events, and free entry to the Annual Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards and the BCC National Awards.

Briege Leahy, CEO at Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce said, “The support that Broxbourne Council has offered businesses in the district has been exemplary during the pandemic. Herts Chamber will continue to work in tandem with the Council to support these three new members as well as existing members to connect, collaborate and grow in Hertfordshire. We thank Broxbourne for their visionary leadership through these extraordinary times. We are stronger together and encourage other Broxbourne businesses to get in touch to explore how we can help them as well.”
