More than 90 business owners attended the Spring Budget Lunch at Three Lakes Westmill Farm in Ware, designed to bring the local business community up to date with the latest announcements from the Spring Budget and provide access to experts in the industry.

Leading accountancy firm, Wilkins Kennedy, hosted the event, with two speakers from the firm each presenting on the different areas of the Budget relating to dividend tax, including VAT, NICs and Inheritance Tax.

There was also a chance to cover a few of the up-coming changes to mortgage rate relief and the VAT Flat Rate Scheme. Those in attendance were also encouraged to give some thought to their year-end tax plan to make the most of any reliefs available to them.

David Kitson, Tax Partner at Wilkins Kennedy’s Hertford office and one of the speakers at the event, said: “There are a number of measures being introduced in the next few weeks and these are likely to make a difference to a number of businesses. Our event marked the end of our Spring Budget Lunch events, paving the way for our new Autumn Budget events. It was a great opportunity to update everybody and inform them of what they can do to mitigate any risk as well as make an effective plan going forward.”
