Award winning Insurance Broker, Stackhouse Poland Limited, have raised an amazing £4,600 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The staff nominated Macmillan as their 2014 Company charity and held various events throughout the year including an inter-office quiz league, the very popular “The Great Stackhouse Bakeoff” and a silent auction and raffle at Christmas.
Hannah Fry, Chairman of the Charity Committee, commented “We are very proud of what our staff have accomplished in 2014. In addition to the money raised for Macmillan we also raised £4,500 for local charities at all of our divisional locations by having regular dress down Fridays. To raise over £10,000 is a real achievement.
As a business working in the Charity sector we see firsthand what donations mean to charitable organisations, whatever the size, and we are thrilled that we can support in this way”
Jessica Blake from Macmillan said “It is our ambition that nobody should face cancer alone. We couldn’t be there for people affected by cancer without the fantastic people who support Macmillan. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Stackhouse Poland for all their hard work and commitment and congratulate them all on reaching such an impressive amount.”
“£3,333 could keep a Macmillan information and support centre, like the Lister Information Centre stocked with all the information resources it needs to support people affected by cancer for a year. These resources would include booklets, guides, directories and leaflets.”
