Courtyard Arts and Hanbury Manor have combined to set up an exhibition of artworks to be displayed throughout the year at the Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel and Country Club.

The main purpose of the project is to raise awareness and support local creative practices, as well as the makers of arts and crafts in the region.  The hotel looks to introduce a contemporary feel to compliment the traditional qualities of Hanbury Manor.

Courtyards Arts is a self-funded charity and community centre, based in Hertford, providing art and craft activities and educational programmes for all ages and abilities. The centre organises numerous diverse exhibitions throughout the year in four separate gallery spaces, including Hertford Theatre. We have a strong membership scheme and hosts an Open event, Arts Trail and Artist-in-Residence every year.

On display in the main public spaces of the hotel are contemporary works by accomplished artists, who have either exhibited or have associated with the Courtyard. Most of the practitioners on display are living and operating in Hertfordshire.

All the artworks are labelled and for sale and are replaced when sold. The collection is on show for a year, and will be refreshed with new works and artists exhibiting in the following year. There are currently 36 artists showing one or more pieces at Hanbury Manor. Visitors will see examples of 2D and 3D work in a range of media, scales, subjects and styles, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture and ceramic design.

For information about purchasing the artworks and artists, initially enquire at the hotel reception and/ or contact the gallery manager at Courtyard Arts in Hertford.
