Hemel Hempstead was lit up on Saturday 30 November with the ‘All New Christmas Festival.’

The event was jointly organised by Dacorum Borough Council, Hemel Hempstead’s Business Improvement District (BID), Riverside Shopping Centre, Marlowes Shopping Centre and Saunders Markets.

Families enjoyed a day of fun festivities including a giant snow globe, Christmas train rides, snow slope, climbing wall, go karts and a toboggan slide.

There was also a festive market and shoppers could take advantage of late night shopping across the town centre.

Children had a special visit from Santa Claus and music from DJ Kentastic. The lights were switched on by Snow Princesses followed by a firework show.

Chris Taylor, Dacorum Borough Council's Group Manager for Strategic Planning and Integration said: “We were proud to work in partnership with members of the Hemel Hempstead Business Improvement District (BID) to deliver this very special Christmas festival. The day was fantastic and brought our communities and businesses together in festive cheer for the full day of family fun and entertainment.”
