On 17 October Acas East of England relocates to Mildenhall in Suffolk.  We have been based in Bury St Edmunds for the last 15 years with advisers travelling across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Norwich to support businesses with their HR and employment relations issues.
Area Director, Caroline Plummer explains that “although Acas is an independent and impartial non departmental government body, it is expected to be based in government owned property so we are moving into the Forrest Heath District Council Offices in Mildenhall.  We are very grateful to Forrest Heath for sharing their premises with us and look forward to forging new and beneficial relationships with businesses and organisations in Mildenhall and the surrounding area.  Of course will continue to serve businesses across the whole of the Eastern region from our new base”.
The majority of our customers will notice no difference to the services we offer:
  • our helpline will remain available
  • our conciliators will still be working with employers and employees to resolve early conciliation claims
  • our trainers will still be out and about delivering training across the east of England
  • our senior advisers will still be working with local businesses to develop business solutions in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, and Norfolk
Acas is known for its dispute resolution services, but we actually do so much more than that: we have face to face and telephone advisory services, both free of charge, but more and more services are available on mobile digital services so you can reach us from just about anywhere:
  • helpline online allows people to type questions on their mobile phones and receive a reply
  • e-learning modules are available on a range of HR and employment law subjects
  • our YouTube channel has videos to help people deal with tricky workplace situations.
Businesses who would like Acas advice on best practice HR and employment relations can call our customer services team on 0300 123 11 50 and invite us along to talk to you about the people issues affecting your business.
