Teens Unite is celebrating its 10th Birthday; a decade of supporting 13-24 year olds fighting cancer from across the UK.
Wormley resident, Debbie Pezzani founded the charity alongside Karen Millen OBE in 2007, in a bid to provide the long-term, non-medical support lacking for young people during their battle with the illness. Teens Unite is the only UK charity to support a young person from their diagnosis through to post-remission.
The charity has supported over 900 teenagers and young adults from across the UK, by uniting them through workshops and activities so they can meet others their age in a similar situation. Teens Unite helps them to rebuild their confidence and self-esteem, make friends, learn new skills and live the happiest life possible outside of treatment and hospital appointments.
To kick off the birthday celebrations, Teens Unite is introducing ‘The BIG 10’; a brand new initiative for companies to be a part of, where they will be set the task of completing 10 challenges in as many months.
Companies will go head to head in a series of challenges in a bid to make their way to the top of the leader board. Over the course of the 10 months, additional points can be earned through volunteering, attending Teens Unite events and raising additional sponsorship, to help earn the winners title.
With a challenge to suit employees of all abilities, The BIG 10 calendar includes pottery, go-karting, cooking, top golf, bowling, 10km runs and rock climbing to name a few.
Debbie Pezzani, CEO and Founder of Teens Unite has said: “We have 10 successful years of Teens Unite to celebrate and we are going to make 2017 the most memorable of them all. We want our supporters to be a part of our special birthday and The BIG 10 is the ideal way to bring companies together to celebrate and make even more of a difference.”
The BIG 10 promotes team work within companies and is the ideal way to fulfil CSR requirements, whilst making a true difference to young lives.
The overall winner will be announced during an awards ceremony, where other successes over the 10 months will also be celebrated.
A company subscription to take part in The BIG 10 is £2,400, which includes all 10 challenges and two complimentary tickets to the awards evening. Additional tickets are available.
