Showcasing Apprenticeships Webinar

Apprenticeships will be instrumental, not only for developing the skills that our economy will need for the recovery of the business sector, but also in promoting social mobility.

Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce is delighted to be partnering with the Deputy Lieutenant for Hertfordshire, Stelio Stefanou OBE, DL, a champion of apprenticeships, to bring you this online event, designed to showcase their importance and inspire greater numbers to participate.

This webinar will highlight stories from those who have started their careers as apprentices and succeeded in breaking through the glass ceiling, exceeding all expectations.

Our keynote speaker, Russell Gould, started his working life with an apprenticeship in Electronic Engineering and is now Managing Director of HENSOLDT UK (formerly Kelvin Hughes), a role he has held for 13 years. He led an MBO from Smiths Group PLC in 2007, and he has seen the company develop into a shining example of British engineering excellence, with a significant global installed base. HENSOLDT UK designs and manufactures radar-based surveillance and security solutions.

Following the keynote presentation there will be a panel session with apprentices, education & training providers and employers, who will discuss the importance of ongoing support and expansion of apprenticeships across all business sectors.

Our panel:

  • Tara Bishop, Apprenticeship Programme Lead, Human Resources, University of Hertfordshire
  • Gareth Dace, Careers Hub Lead and Senior Enterprise Coordinator, Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)
  • Abby Debnam and Callum Morgan, Trainee Accountants, HB Accountants
  • Russell Gould, Managing Director, Hensoldt UK
  • Anna Morrison CBE, Director, Amazing Apprenticeships
  • Georgia Nicholls, Events Co-ordinator, Herts Chamber of Commerce
  • Lindsey Sherring, Director, Hart Learning & Development

Please note that this session will be recorded. The focus will be primarily on the presentation, however please be aware that delegates may be recorded during the Q&A. The recording will belong to the Herts Chamber and will be shared on our platforms, for further information please see our Events Terms and Conditions.
