Employer’s Obligations and Avoiding Liability Claims - Webinar

The next in a series of Webinar Events that the Herts Chamber have organised in these challenging times in order to continue supporting our members and non-members, and to provide vital information that businesses may need.

With companies preparing themselves to get their staff back to office environments over the coming months, this webinar will focus on the obligations of employers and how to avoid any liability claims.

From an insurance perspective, Peter Smits, MD at Ashbourne Insurance, will provide guidance on how to safely reinstate your business following recent government announcements. From buildings and premises, to people (including staff and visitors) and reviewing equipment/machinery, he will offer help for you to plan reopening with a measured approach.

From an employment law perspective, Kaajal Nathwani, Partner, Employment Law, at Curwens Solicitors, will discuss employer obligations, give guidance on how to ensure that adequate health & safety measures are taken to facilitate return to work, and avoid any potential claims.

Peter Smits was appointed Managing Director of multi-award winning Ashbourne Insurance in 2008, where he has worked for over twenty years. He has been a key member of the Keychoice Broker Forum (Insurance Industry) for a number of years where he provides significant input and guidance to help shape the direction Keychoice takes for its members. Peter also sits on the steering committee of David Lloyd Police and Crime Commissioner’s “Hertfordshire’s Independent Business Advisory Group (IBAG)”.

Kaajal Nathwani is Head of the Employment Department at Curwens and has extensive experience in all aspects of employment law. An accomplished litigator, Kaajal has advised both individuals and businesses on complex disputes in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal. Kaajal is experienced drafting bespoke employment contracts, policies and procedures for businesses as well as providing guidance for employers & employees through complex and sensitive disciplinary and grievance situations.

Please note that this session will be recorded. The focus will be primarily on the presentation, however please be aware that delegates may be recorded during the Q&A. The recording will belong to the Herts Chamber and will be shared on our platforms, for further information please see our Events Terms and Conditions.
