A breakfast workshop, designed for small business leaders, covering the legal and practical requirements for achieving compliant privacy notices.
Your privacy notice is not just the public face of your Data Protection activities. It is a legally binding undertaking to your data subjects. It must, therefore, comply fully with the law to avoid challenges that could cause reputational damage, and the smaller your business the more serious the consequences.
A recent examination of over 200 post-May 25th privacy notices, randomly selected online, revealed that none of them were entirely compliant with the new legislation, and many contained statements that were actually unlawful. Any one of the failings found could lead to a complaint and possible action by the ICO. This workshop will:
• Discuss the most important common failings found in current privacy notices
• Provide some universally applicable guidance on avoiding them
• Offer a standard template for achieving compliant presentation
The workshop will be conducted under the Chatham House Rule, allowing you to discuss your concerns freely with our speaker, Mike Barwise, Director, Business Information Risk Management Consulting.
