The construction contract for the London 2012 White Water Canoe Centre at Broxbourne was awarded to Morrison Construction Ltd.

This appointment marks the beginning of the build of the Olympic and Legacy canoe courses. It follows a recent round of planning approvals and funding agreements with Sport England, East of England Development Agency, the Olympic Delivery Authority and Lee Valley Regional Park Authority.

Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, (LVRPA) will own, manage and fund the White Water Canoe Centre in legacy. LVRPA will create a first rate attraction which will appeal to a huge variety of people from Hertfordshire, London and Essex and much further afield including overseas.

The Centre will be a focus for elite canoeists, but will also provide a full range of paddle sports and an inclusive programme for community and club use.
