A new training centre in Stevenage is holding a grand opening, which aims to raise money for East & North Herts Hospital Charity ‘The Magic of Play appeal’.
ESS Technical Academy, a new electrical and health & safety training centre in Stevenage, are holding a Grand opening on Friday, October 31 at 2.00pm, which will be opened by Mayor of Stevenage, Councillor Sherma Batson.
Based in Arlington Business Park, the centre has derived from a passion of giving real life experience to industry qualifications. Director of ESS Group Mr. Paul Webber MIET said: “I am excited to give back my knowledge to the electrical industry, one of which has given me so much over the past 30 years.”
ESS Technical Academy offer a wide range of electrical and health & safety courses, extending from 1-day short courses for adult learners, to bespoke programs built for corporate training requirements, in house or at their premises. All of the courses offered are accredited with national awarding bodies including City and Guilds, EAL and CITB.
Unlike other training centres, ESS prides itself on providing a one-to-one style feel of training, meaning courses are never overbooked or overcrowded. This allows the emphasis to go back on the students’ education, rather than getting numbers through the doors.
As well as being a day of celebration, ESS Technical Academy is taking the opportunity to help raise money for East & North Herts Hospital Charity ‘Magic of Play appeal’ by selling cakes and hosting a raffle. The appeal aims to raise £250,000 to build and equip a new playroom on the Children’s Unit at the Lister hospital in Stevenage.
Mr. Webber said: “It’s great that we can take something positive for the business, and turn it into a positive to community at the same time. We are still looking for prizes for the raffle so if you would like to donate anything for the raffle, please email us email@example.com”
The event aims to establish ESS Technical Academy into the community, and give something back at the same time.
