Representatives from a host of influential businesses in the region gathered at Shendish Manor, Apsley on the  8th January 2008 to witness the launch of the recently rebranded Business Excellence Award’s 2008. The Awards will culminate with a prestigious black tie ceremony, hosted by Sky News presenter Dermot Murnaghan, to be held back at Shendish Manor on the 6th June.

Guests were treated to a compilation of film clips, highlighting the continued success of the Awards followed by a short presentation made by Julie Gingell of SA Law and Jackie Withey of Alliotts Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors. Julie explained how the Watford and North West London Business Awards have undergone a radical transformation. She commented “we changed the name to the Business Excellence Awards, to reflect the competitions aim – to celebrate business excellence. This year we have also expanded the catchment area of the awards to include the whole of South Hertfordshire, North & North West London.” 

Jackie Withey added “The goal of this year’s competition is to showcase talent in the region’s diverse business community. She went on to introduce Scott Laity – an International Business student from the University of Hertfordshire, who benefited from last year’s Awards with a bursary. This year, Scott has been gaining valuable experience working with the awards committee helping with the administration of the competition and the organisation of the event. 

The Awards are sponsored by Alliotts Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, SA Law, BDO Stoy Hayward, Coutts, University of Hertfordshire, Lombard, Natwest and RBS and are supported by the Watford Chamber of Commerce, WENTA and UK Trade and Investment.Free to enter, the prestigious Awards are open to organisations of all sizes, as well as to individuals. Businesses based within South Hertfordshire, North London or North West London, are invited to enter the Awards.
