The Queen’s Awards are highly sought-after and provide tangible benefits for companies who receive one. The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is recognised in the UK and overseas and is respected as a mark of success by the business community.

Your business can apply to enter The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise through our website at www.queensawards.org.uk. This new way of completing your entries means applicants will be able to submit their form(s) online right up until the midnight deadline on 31 October 2007. Alternatively, application forms can be obtained by calling 08705 13 44 86

Companies may apply for the business Award in one, two, or all of the three categories of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise. These are: International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development.  The International Trade award recognises companies that have demonstrated growth in overseas earnings while the Innovation Award is for companies that have demonstrated commercial success through innovative products or services. Sustainable Development recognises  companies that have integrated environmental, social, economic and management aspects of sustainable development into their business.

In July 2004 an Award for individuals - The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP) - was introduced to recognise and reward people who have promoted business enterprise and entrepreneurial skills and attitudes in others. Up to ten Awards will be granted annually and additionally, if a suitable candidate has been nominated, a single Lifetime Achievement Award may go to an individual judged to have carried out consistent, high quality promotion of enterprise over ten years.

To help companies better understand the Awards Scheme and provide advice about applying for the UK’s most prestigious corporate accolade, UKTI will hold an awareness event on WEDNESDAY 4TH JULY at the RADISSON HOTEL, STANSTED AIPORT.  This event is being organised by UK Trade & Investment in support of The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

Several awareness events have been held in recent years and companies have found these especially useful in providing guidance and insight into the completion of their application forms. The event is a great opportunity to hear from, and network with, past winners to find out about the application process and the commercial benefits derived from holding the Award. Members of The Queen’s Awards Office will also be present should you wish to ask them any further questions.

If you are not able to attend the event, you can find further information on the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise website at www.queensawards.org.uk – and you will also be able to make a business Award application or Individual Award nomination on-line.
