Commenting on the Government's proposals for taking forward the implementation of the Sub-National Review today, David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, said:

"The Government's proposals to take forward reform of the current Local Authority and RDA framework will amount to nothing unless they enhance and entrench the role of the business community in decision-making.

"Businesses are the drivers of their local economies, creating wealth and providing jobs for their communities. Instead of being taken for granted, their views, expertise and knowledge must be used to drive local and regional policy to achieve economic growth across all of our regions."
