Following talks, the Watford & West Herts Chamber of Commerce has agreed to affiliate to the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry to form one of the country’s most influential business groups. The move, which will enable the Watford Chamber to retain operational and strategic independence, creates a lobby of almost two thousand businesses that employ a quarter of the county’s workforce. In addition to increased lobbying power, members will be able to access a much larger business network locally, regionally and nationally.

Roger Gagan, Watford Chamber Chief Executive said,” Our members will benefit greatly through the closer relation with the county chamber which in turn will also benefit from an association with one of the country’s most successful local chambers”

Hertfordshire Chamber Chief Executive Tim Hutchings said,” I am absolutely delighted with this move, two successful chambers working together can only benefit the businesses they seek to serve. Watford Chamber has made great strides in the last few years, a fact which is confirmed through rising membership, we are proud to be associated with them”.

The move, which will enable members to access a range of benefits, was confirmed at the Watford Annual General meeting held at Moor Park on 13th June 2006.
