Event: The Advent Tale

Date: 9th December 2016

Venue: Grand Connaught Rooms, London

Teens Unite hosted its annual fundraising gala event on 9th December 2016 at London’s prestigious Grand Connaught Rooms. Over 350 supporters of the charity came together to raise a staggering £212,000.

Aptly titled ‘The Advent Tale’, the festive themed event was directed by Teens Unite’s Co-Founder and celebrated designer, Karen Millen OBE, who transformed the venue into a magical winter wonderland complete with reindeers and Christmas trees.

Hosted by TV and radio presenter, Adrian Chiles; a long list of celebrities were amongst the guest list including model Casey Batchelor, Made in Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo, Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson, TOWIE’s Lewis Bloor, Courtney Green and Chloe Meadows, model Jodie Kidd and Love Island star’s Olivia Buckland, Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey.

The evening included an intimate, acoustic performance from Blue singer, Lee Ryan.

Teens Unite is the only UK charity to provide ongoing support to 13-24 year olds fighting cancer from diagnosis through to post-remission. The charity organises workshops and activities, which bring teenagers and young adults overcoming the illness together. Through Teens Unite, they can rebuild their confidence and self-esteem, make friends with those in a similar situation and live the fullest life possible.

Karen Millen OBE has said: “The Advent Tale was the perfect way to end what has been a fantastic year for Teens Unite. This was the third in our series of gala events and the most successful yet. We are overwhelmed by the support we received on the evening and the money raised will make a remarkable difference to our work and the young people we help throughout their battle with cancer.

It was the perfect way to end 2016 and we’re looking forward to celebrating Teens Unite’s 10th anniversary next year.”
