Responding to reports that the Conservative Party’s Quality of Life Policy Group will recommend that no new expansion should happen at the UK’s airports Sally Low, Director of Policy and External Affairs at the British Chambers of Commerce, said: “The state of the major airports around London is a national disgrace and we are in danger of harming our competitiveness because of it. London has become the World’s financial centre and further expansion at Heathrow is crucial if that position is going to be retained. “The UK needs more capacity at its airports and any recommendation on a moratorium does not recognise the reality of what the economy needs to compete internationally.”
