Commenting on Lord Drayson's sudden departure from his role with the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (DBERR) Sally Low, Director of Policy and External Affairs at the British Chambers of Commerce said:

"We are very disappointed to learn of Lord Drayson's resignation. As a business person himself he clearly understood the importance that better regulation plays in creating the conditions for economic success.  "The Government must now ensure that the drive for a better regulatory environment for business does not lose momentum. A minister for better regulation is necessary to give the issue political impetus. Without this business may start to question the Government's commitment."
