London Luton Airport today launched its new Community Trust Fund.  The fund has been established to support local community initiatives that positively contribute towards the aims and objectives of the Airport’s Community Engagement Strategy.

The new £50,000 fund is open to groups from Luton, Stevenage, South Bedfordshire, North Hertfordshire, Aylesbury Vale and St.Albans district - which includes Harpenden.  It is independently administered by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation on behalf of London Luton Airport.
Simon Earles, General Manager Planning and CSR at London Luton Airport said ‘we are tremendously proud to be launching our Community Trust Fund with a commitment of £50,000 that will make a real difference to people in our local communities.  We look forward to following the progress of organisations that receive funding throughout 2009.’
Grants of between £250 and £3,000 per organisation are available.  The first deadline for applications is 23rd February 2009. For further details on the new fund, visit the Airport’s community website at http://www.london-lutoninthecommunity.co.uk/communitytrustfund/
