The hunt is on again for photographs to represent Hertford in the town’s official calendar, published byHertford Town Council and sold in the Hertford Town and Tourist Information Centre. 13 winners will be selected to make up the 12 months and front cover of the calendar.
 
Photographs can be as creative as you wish, and can including mobile phone snaps or Instagram pictures. Or why not use a good old-fashioned camera, be it a compact or SLR?
 
We are looking for a variety of images to cover all seasons. Photographs must be of Hertford and could be of the parks and gardens, River Lea, historic landmarks, events taking place or somethingelse that the eye of the beholder sees interest and beauty in.
 
Photographs must be submitted by the closing date of Friday 26th August. To enter, simply send an email with the high resolution photograph to tic@hertford.gov.uk along with your name, address, telephone number, title of photograph and where it was taken. Alternatively, hand in a copy of your photograph on a CD or USB to the Hertford Town and Tourist Information Centre. Please note, entrants are asked to submit a maximum of three photographs.
 
Successful applicants will be presented a complimentary calendar and certificate by the Mayor of Hertford at the calendar launch ceremony at Hertford Castle on Sunday 9th October.
 
The Chairman of the Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said: “We know that Hertford’s calendar is sent to people around the world, so this an opportunity to show off our town, its history, landscape and events that go on here. I hope that people will send in pictures of well-known local scenes, but also some of the more hidden aspects of Hertford that will add interest to the
calendar.”
