It's time to dust off your apron and get ready for the cooking competition of the year. This spring, Chamber member The Cookery will be replicating the hit BBC One show that has captivated the nation’s hearts with the 'Hoddesdon Business Bake Off'.

Businesses will be challenged to put on their oven gloves and turn up the gas in a bid to be the number one baker in the local area. Six participants will take part in each round, competing for a place in the final in May 2016 where they will have to wow a panel of special guest judges.

Bakers will be put to the test as Simon Atkins, Owner of The Cookery will set two tasks; the first to follow one of his recipes, the second to create their own impressive masterpiece. Simon, who started life as a boy baker when he was just 14 years of age and still at school, has a firm knowledge of baking and is keen to help participants develop their skills and have fun in the process.

To take part costs £100 per entrant, with all of the proceeds going to Teens Unite. Whether you are a novice baker or on par with Mary Berry, it’s time to embrace the community spirit and help make a difference to the lives of young people fighting cancer.

Debbie Pezzani, CEO and Founder, Teens Unite has said; “We can’t wait for the Hoddesdon Business Bake Off to come to town. This is a brand new initiative, which will bring businesses in the local community together. Anyone can take part, irrelevant of skillset or the size of the company. Nominate a member of staff and put them to the test- you never know, you could have a winning business on your hands.”
