Following the success of the Big Weekend last March, Visit Herts will be promoting the initiative again in 2017. This year, it will take place during National English Tourism Week (25 March - 2 April) and residents will have the opportunity to win free tickets to local attractions.

In Hertfordshire, residents can take advantage of what’s up for grabs, from tickets to Paradise Wildlife Park to a ride on the white water rapids on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 April.

The aim of Herts Big Weekend is to encourage Hertfordshire residents to discover and experience the many wonderful attractions and activities available in their home county – and to spread the word to others.

The Council is supporting the initiative in partnership with Visit Herts and hopes that local people will get involved and explore the wonderful sites and attractions close-by. Lots of local attractions are giving away thousands of free tickets to Hertfordshire residents – there will be something for everyone including visits to stately homes and gardens, wild animal parks, magical studio tours and the Lee Valley White Water Centre.

Residents who want to be in with a chance of winning free tickets should enter the online ballot HERE between 9 February and 3March 2017. They can apply for tickets to as many attractions as they like.

Two tickets per household will be allocated by ballot to the lucky winners, although some family tickets will be available as well.
